Jos Scheffelaar
Jos Scheffelaar has 25+ years of international business experience in the high-tech sector. He has been stationed in several countries in Europe, as well as in Asia. He also has done business in Latin America. This global experience has given him a unique understanding of different international business cultures, which enables him to build and maintain successful, trust-based international business relationships.
His extensive experience with the US high-tech industry stems from his successful professional career of more than 20 years, residing in the USA.
Jos led the US operations of CR Systems, a Danish networking company, deploying data networks for major airlines. For Bolt, Beranek and Newman (BBN), a company renowned for its work on the early Internet, he was based in Tokyo, Japan, where he was in charge of deploying data networks for major customers and managing relationships with major accounts in the region. After returning to the US, he assumed overall account responsibility for a number of Fortune 100 accounts as well as channel partners, and did business development for BBN in Asia and Europe.
At Genuity, a Tier 1 Internet Service Provider, Jos was responsible for International Channels and Alliances, and among others, managed the strategic alliance with Verizon. In 2004, he joined Quarry Technologies, a start-up company, where he was responsible for the strategic relationships with a number of major telecom carriers and strategic partners in Asia. Subsequently, he joined ITA Software, a software services company, where he was responsible for several strategic customer accounts.
Jos is active in several Boston entrepreneurial organizations and has an extensive professional network across high-tech industries.
Jos earned a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Delft Technical University in the Netherlands. He resides in the Boston area.
